Thesis editing for all Degrees

Submitted by on Tuesday, 19 February 2013No Comment

“Often the difference between a distinction and a lesser mark or a pass and a fail depends simply on the quality of the editing of your thesis.”

Carol A Macdonald PhD (Edin); Developmental psycholinguist: EMBED; Academic, Researcher, Writer and Editor; Honorary Research Fellow: Department of Linguistics, Unisa

Clarity

If writing isn’t clear, it’s nothing. If readers have to guess at your meaning, only some will guess right. Leave nothing to chance. In the control of language lies your power.

‘Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences. This is the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all sentences short, or avoid all detail and treat subjects only in outline, BUT THAT EVERY WORD TELL.’ Strunk & White; The Elements of Style

When I edit your thesis, I will:

  • correct typos, spelling mistakes, grammar and punctuation;
  • confirm your content is logical;
  • ensure your writing is clear and concise and flows.

I also provide a range of delivery options from 24 hours to 10 days or more, depending on your deadline.

For a quotation  to edit your work, send a two or three page sample to gemmelljl@gmail.com. Give the length of your thesis and the date you require it back and I will send you a price by return. Also visit out website at www.editlab.net.

“David edited my 700 page doctoral thesis, which was singled out as being particularly well written by the examiners, and he did it within a tight deadline. I highly recommend his work.”
